Itinerary
Day 1 |
We travel south, arriving at Kingsbridge during the afternoon, and the short onward transfer to our hotel. Relax, settle in and enjoy a drinks reception before our first delicious evening meal. |
Day 2 |
A morning excursion to nearby Salcombe, a beautiful coastal town sitting on the Salcombe estuary. |
Day 3 |
Today our excursion takes us to Saltram (NT) - a magnificent Georgian mansion with tranquil parkland and gardens. One of the Trust's hidden treasures, Saltram makes for a perfect day out - situated so close to Plymouth and yet in a world of its own! The magnificent house with its original contents gives a fascinating insight into the rich and sophisticated country-estate life. |
Day 4 |
We transfer to Kingsbridge before continuing to the seafaring port of Dartmouth, with its imposing Royal Naval College. Here, we include a scenic Dart River Cruise, so sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery. We return via Start Bay passing the shingle beaches of Slapton Sands to Torcross, where we can discover the Sherman Tank Memorial - a memorial to the 749 American Servicemen who lost their lives during the D-Day Landing rehearsals. |
Day 5 |
After breakfast we depart our hotel, returning home in the afternoon. |
