The hotel is an imposing country house hotel set in 170 acres of beautiful, wooded Norfolk parkland. This lovely hotel with its sweeping drive and combined Elizabethan and Victorian styles, offers the perfect location for a relaxing break. The hotel has spacious public areas, a fine restaurant, Brasserie bar, club house bar and shop. Leisure facilities include an indoor swimming pool, spa, sauna, steam room. Itinerary
Day 1 |
We travel to East Anglia making a stop for lunch (not included) in Cathedral City of Ely before arriving at our hotel for our 4-night stay. |
Day 2 |
This morning we visit Norwich City Centre. Dominated by its magnificent Norman cathedral, which is celebrated as one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in Europe and has the second tallest spire in the country. Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery is one of the city's most famous landmarks and the county's principal museum. Enjoy excellent shopping in Castle Mall and the permanent outdoor market! |
Day 3 |
We take a steam train ride on the Bure Valley Railway from Aylsham to Wroxham. The railway runs along the picturesque Bure Valley, following the meandering river through meadowland and ancient pasture. We break for lunch in Wroxham the 'Capital of the Norfolk Broads'. In the afternoon, we enjoy a memorable 2-hour cruise on the River Bure. |
Day 4 |
A morning visit to Cromer, which is famous for its crab fishing. Cromer also has a Victorian pier, which in the summer hosts the last 'end-of-the-pier show' in the country. In the afternoon, we visit Felbrigg, one of the most elegant country houses in East Anglia. Truly a hidden gem, the Hall is a place of surprises and delights, with a fine Gothic style library and a magnificent collection of Grand Tour paintings. |
Day 5 |
After breakfast, it's homeward bound. |
