The beautiful county of Devon is a delight to visit at any time of year. On this tour for summer, we feature Paignton, the steam railway, a cruise and a visit to historic Plymouth, as well as the delightful towns along the English Riviera and Dartmoor National Park.

Part of the prestigious Duchy Hotels group, the comfortable family run Queens Hotel stand around 200 yards from Paignton seafront and is an ideal base for this tour. Restaurant, lounge/bar plus entertainment room with regular evening entertainment. Hotel facilities include indoor heated swimming pool.

Itinerary
Day 1 |
A leisurely journey to the West Country for our 7-night stay. Tea/ Coffee and biscuits on arrival. |
Day 2 |
We visit Brixham, an attractive port fringed with a tumble of colourful cottages on surrounding hillsides. |
Day 3 |
Today, we visit Torquay. Why not take a scenic walk along the pier and promenade and visit the Royal Terrace Gardens? |
Day 4 |
A superb day out with a 'Steam and Cruise' theme. In Paignton, we join the Dartmouth Steam Railway for a delightful and nostalgic ride along the coast and across to the scenic Dart Valley to Kingswear. Here we take the ferry across the harbour to historic Dartmouth. We have time for lunch and to explore the town before we enjoy a 1-hour cruise along the beautiful River Dart. Afterwards, we take the ferry to Kingswear and join the train for the ride back to Paignton. |
Day 5 |
Today's excursion takes us to the historic maritime City of Plymouth. Explore the Hoe, see the famous Mayflower Steps, visit the town centre and obtain lunch. |
Day 6 |
This morning we journey to Buckfast Abbey. Later we enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. Keep an eye out for the wild Dartmoor ponies. |
Day 7 |
A free day in Paignton. |
Day 8 |
Homeward bound. |
