Day 1

We drive north, with a convenient lunch stop, to our superbly situated hotel for our 4-night stay.

Day 2

Enjoy a ride up the Lancashire coast, stopping at Lytham St Annes, with its wide-open sandy beaches, lovely pier, beach huts and boutique shops, before spending contrasting time in Blackpool, home of thrills, spills and entertainment.

Day 3

A day at leisure in Southport, the proclaimed 'Floral Capital of the North West', with its beaches, parks and gardens. Or simply enjoy a relaxing day alongside the Marine Lake, built in the 19th century as a safe haven for ships during low tides. Nowadays it's a popular leisure attraction and is just outside the door of our hotel.

Day 4

We head for to Liverpool, visiting the Beatles Story Museum. This afternoon is free to explore the city at leisure, including the Albert Dock or maybe head to Mathew Street and the famous Cavern Club, where the band cut their teeth.

Day 5

We head homeward, but not before a visit to Rufford Old Hall (NT). A stunning Tudor Great Hall with fantastic furniture, tapestries and a carved oak screen. History springs to life in the Hesketh's dining room, its food laden table, lit candles and 'fire in the hearth' waiting for the family's dinner guests.
