Days 1 & 2 Glenburn Hotel, Rothesay, Isle of Bute - Located on the idyllic Isle of Bute, with fantastic views over the Firth of Clyde • 3-star • 134 bedrooms • Lift. Days 3 & 4 Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa - In a spectacular location, with panoramic sea views. • A good 3-star superior standard • 82 bedrooms • No lift but some ground floor rooms. • Spa facilities including indoor swimming pool.
Day 5 Riverside Lodge Hotel, Irvine (4-star standard) No lift but some ground floor rooms
All hotels are varied in style and standards. Travellers should consider the fact that they will often be in beautiful, yet isolated locations where hotel availability is extremely limited.

Itinerary
Friday |
Travel north to Wemyss Bay, for a late afternoon ferry to the pretty little Island of Bute, our base for 2 nights. 15 miles long and less than 5 miles wide, the western side of the island is well known for its beaches, some of which enjoy fine views over the Sound of Bute towards Arran. |
Saturday |
A relaxing morning followed by a scenic tour of the island with a stop at Mount Stuart, an outstanding and flamboyant Victorian, Gothic style mansion with beautiful gardens within a 300-acre estate. |
Sunday |
A short hop this morning on the ferry to Colintraive. Journey further north with a stop in Inveraray where we include a visit to Inveraray Jail Living Museum. We continue to Oban where we board the sailing to Mull and our 2-night stay at the Isle of Mull Hotel. |
Monday |
A scenic excursion around Mull including a foot passenger crossing to legendary Iona, burial place of 48 ancient Scottish kings. |
Tuesday |
Returning to the mainland we journey south via Loch Lomond to the north Ayrshire coast and our final night at the Riverside Lodge Hotel in Irvine. |
