Itinerary
Sunday |
Departing Henley we journey south to Sussex, arriving at our hotel during the afternoon. |
Monday |
Today we head to Firle Place where we unravel the centuries on a private tour of one of the finest examples of Elizabethan architecture. We also have free time in Lewes, a medieval market town surrounded by chalk cliffs. |
Tuesaday |
Explore 11 acres of stunning borders and vistas at the award-winning, family-owned Pashley Manor, where a lifelong passion for gardening and a love of the English country garden tradition come to life. Believed to be the childhood retreat of Anne Boleyn, it has been transformed into one of Sussex's most beautiful landscapes. We also visit Battle, a charming town built around the abbey that was erected on the site of the famous Battle of Hastings. |
Wednesday |
This morning we make tracks for the Kent & East Sussex Railway to embark on a one-way steam train journey from Bodiam to Tenterden. This afternoon is spent with free time in Hastings with its lovely seafront. |
