Itinerary
Sunday |
We travel south, making a suitable lunch stop en-route, arriving at our hotel mid-afternoon. Relax, settle in and enjoy a drinks reception before our first delicious evening meal. |
Monday |
A free day to explore and enjoy the many attractions that Sidmouth has to offer. Make the most of your hotels luxurious surroundings and enjoy a sumptuous Devon cream tea! |
Tuesday |
We first visit Lyme Regis - a coastal resort that boasts breath-taking scenery and holds a special mystique. Its historic Cobb and harbour are iconic features, set against moody blue cliffs yielding fossilised evidence of life on earth millions of years ago. (Please note that access to the town and promenade from the coach park is via a steep incline and may prove challenging for those with reduced mobility). In the afternoon, we travel to Buckfastleigh where we will visit Buckfast Abbey, located in the centre of this picturesque village on the edge of Dartmoor, home to a community of Benedictine Monks, at the heart of Buckfast is the Abbey and Monastery, the site also includes beautiful, spacious gardens, restaurant and numerous shops. |
Wednesday |
We drive to Exmouth where we include a leisurely river cruise. The Exe is a feeding ground for seals so keep a watchful eye open as we sail through the calm sheltered waters of the Exe. With live commentary this cruise will give you a full insight into the history and scenic splendour of the area including the resident and visiting wildlife. |
Thursday |
After breakfast we depart our hotel and after making a suitable stop for lunch en-route we arrive home in the afternoon. |
