Monday

A morning departure, we
travel to Eastbourne, arriving during
the afternoon at the Langham Hotel
for our 4-night stay.

Tuesday

Our first visit this morning is
to Bateman’s (NT) – a seventeenth
century house with a twentieth century
garden made by Rudyard Kipling, who
lived here between 1902-36. The
rooms are much as he left them:
oriental rugs and artifacts from his
Eastern adventures, a book lined study,
his Nobel prize certificate for literature,
a phonograph playing music and his
Rolls Royce still in the garage. Next,
we continue to nearby Pashley Manor.

country garden set in 11-acres of
beautiful borders and vistas situated on
the border of Sussex and Kent.

Wednesday

A day at leisure to relax
and explore Eastbourne.

Thursday

We head inland to the Sussex
High Weald to visit one of the country’s
truly great gardens, Nyman’s (NT).
The perfect place to relax, stroll in the
garden and enjoy some time out.
A delight at any time of year with
constantly evolving planting designs
and a rare and unusual plant collection.

Friday

A leisurely drive homeward
arriving home during the afternoon.
