Itinerary
Sunday |
En-route to our hotel we travel via the gardens of Levens Hall in the Southern Lakes where there are twelve wonderful acres of gardens to explore. From here, it's a short drive to our hotel for our 4-night stay. |
Monday |
Today, we visit Lakes Aquarium on the southern shore of Windermere. The Lakes Aquarium is home to hundreds of amazing creatures, showcasing local wildlife. Also, enjoy a 45-minute cruise on Lake Windermere where we can relish the magnificent mountain scenery. |
Tuesday |
A leisurely drive through the Furness region which includes a return steam train journey on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Steam Railway from the coastal village of Ravenglass through the foothills of the Lake District National Park. We continue to Muncaster Castle, Gardens, Hawk and Owl Centre, where we spend time exploring this haunted castle and its grounds! |
Wednesday |
We make our way to the magnificent Holker Hall and Gardens. Tour the house and discover the distinguished library, elegant drawing room, and ornate dining room. The award-winning gardens display a wonderful collection of trees, shrubs and flowers, and offer inspiration throughout the year. This afternoon we visit the Lakeland Motor Museum, housing some 30,000 exhibits including cars, bikes, tractors and all kinds of memorabilia |
Thursday |
We leave for home after a last, hearty 'Cumbrian' breakfast. |
